i seen a lot of profile pictures lately that have those cool frames, and they are usually really colorful. i will show you what i mean, but the picture i found is a little poor. but it gives the idea what i am talking about..
Easy to do in Photoshop.Once you have your image on the screen go to ACTIONS under WINDOWS and click the small triangle on the bottom of the page.
Another way would be to just scan a frame (surroundings from a painting or picture). The it’s just a matter of copy and pasting your image inside the frame using Photoshop.

I get all my supplies from one of two places: B&H Photo/Video and Freestyle Photographic. Freestyle has more selection for photographic paper and film, but B&H has better selection for matboard and negative carriers. They both carry something for everything you need. Freestyle has a $25 minimum order, which you won’t have a problem with (100 sheets of paper will do it by itself).
Question: is the Matte/Pearl requirement from your instructor? I found when I was learning glossy gave me best results. However, if it is a requirement I highly recommend Oriental RC paper. Oriental gave me good contrast and real blacks compared to Ilford.
NOTE: Don’t discount the “Arista” rebranded products. You get great products at excellent prices. Arista.EDU Ultra 200 is a great film. Arista Premium 400 is rebranded Tri-X (at least that is the consensus) at prices you can’t match with the regular film.

What does it mean to matte & frame a poster? Is it the same thing as lithographing?
I have a wooden framed Zed Zeppelin poster. It almost looks like it was painted on but i don’t think so….
Matting is just another form of making a poster and almost anything artistic look better presented. and lithographing is a process of producing a picture on a flat stone, with some greasy substance, and of taking ink impressions from this as in ordinary printing.
